In Memory Cassie

1990 - 2008

Cassie suffered with a stomach illness for two months. The decision to put her down was not an easy one as she has been my trusted friend for almost 16 years. She lived a great life, mostly on the ranch chasing squirrels, mice and just loving life. She was a wonderful dog, slept in the bed under the covers. this dog was the most devoted dog I have ever owned. Where I went she went. Heaven help anyone who came into a room I was sleeping in she would go after them with all she had.

This page is in memory to her.

She will be missed.

  The Last Battle:
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And the pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this - the last battle - can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only stay with me till the end.
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes can no longer see.
I know in time you will agree,
It is a kindness your do for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Do not grieve that is must be you,
    Who has decided this thing to do;
We have been so close - we two - these years,
Do not let your heart hold any tears.
